ACCORDING to a survey conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), a total of 2.6 million people are unemployed despite being qualified graduates. This is happening in spite of our increasing growth rate.
Of the total educated graduates, 9.0 per cent are unemployed, because, in this country, it is quite easy to get a job for those who do not have higher education, but enough strings to pull.
After having a post-graduation degree, we all look for a suitable employment, but very few of us ever think of becoming self-employed by being an entrepreneur. We should change our mindset and stop running after jobs and work for others in stead of working for ourselves. A lot of entrepreneurs are required to enrich our private sector and make significant contribution to our national income.
